Training the Ford-Basis Way...

Chrissy's ready to go out for a spin in Redlands, CA with the Ford-Basis girls... I think this picture speaks to how much fun we all have together. :o)

We've been staying in Redlands, CA after the San Dimas stage race training together before the start of the Redlands Bicycle Classic on March 31st. When we went out on a Target run, Lauren Gaffney and I decided to pull a little prank on Chrissy and deck her out in some cute kid gear... just because Chrissy's so fun and cute to begin with!

I will check in again soon, until then... it's time for another ride!

Another DeFeet SUCCESS!

Another weekend racing in Greenville, and another SUCCESSFUL weekend for Team DeFeet! I am so proud of the way that the girls raced together.

Team DeFeet achieved their goal of placing on the podium both days, with a win and 3rd place on Saturday and a second place on Sunday.

I am looking forward to one final weekend with the DeFeet girls before I leave for CA on Tuesday the 15th. Check back for more smashing results!

Holly Springs News...

Here is a very nice article from the Holly Springs Sun about me.

Fun Filled First Race Weekend

Last weekend I traveld to Greenville, SC to race with Team DeFeet at the infamous Greenville Training Series. I made the trip with Deb and her husband Bryan, the whole way chitter chattering about what we might expect at the race.

What a weekend it was! The first day we had over 50 women show up. Team Diet Cheerwine had a large presence, along with DeFeet and Forum Cycling. It ended up being a fairly aggressive race, with Cheerwine sending attacks left and right, and the field chasing and sometimes countering. In all the craziness, none other than our own Gabi Hauck attacked and was able to solo in for a fashionable victory.

On Sunday, I think we scared everyone away or something because only 25 women came up to shake and shiver on the starting line. Today's race was much more laid back. A break went from the start, which we had TWO riders in. AWESOME! So I just sat back with 4 of my teammates at the front of the field and shut everything down. The break was established quickly, so the rest of the race was very relaxed. On the last lap some attacking started again, which made it more fun. A couple miles out from the finish I took a flyer to help our team take the field sprint... and we DID!!! It was a great race... all around good teamwork and that's what I like to see. We walked away with 3rd, 4th, and 5th place.

I had a great time watching the DeFeet riders blossom into a strong and defiant team. After the weekend, DeFeet was the talk of the town! We're definitely the team to beat on the regional scene.

I look forward to another great race weekend with the DeFeet Girlz. Hopefully it won't be so cold this weekend, but it looks like this winter stuff is hanging around.
